A definition of Goshen College is found by some persons in buildings and landmarks comprising the campus. The tower of the Union, the rose arbor, the gate, the foundation are distinctive to the hundred acres. But even more significant are the buildings in which students live and attend classes day after day. Rittenhouse finds the rose arbor a place for uninterrupted study and thought.
