At the close of the second decade in its his- tm-y, the college has passed from a small institution with a local patronage and educational standards lower than the average high school of its day, to a large, well organized, mature col- lege, doing graduate work, with a student body representing more than a dozen states and Canada. The institution had its oi ' igin in a deep-seated conviction on the pai-t of its early found- ers of the great need and value of a ChriNtian eduratioii.
