Life is a play and the world, a stage. We are the actors cast in very special roles. We all portray unique characters — ourselves. Because life is complex, every segment of life is a play in itself. Although Goshen Central High School is but a small part of our world, it has served as the theater and the stage for a play — a musical in which each of us has played a key role. Songs have been a significant part of the drama of high school life, which has been a combination of comedy and tragedy. The lyrics of our day have captured the emotions reflected in our musical: pride and frustration, joy and sorrow, laughter and tears. Equally important in our musical has been the large cast of characters. Each of us has been a star in his own right, assuming a different role at various times. Yes, we have all taken part in a play, in life, in school life because the basic elements of drama are the major ingredients of human experience: feelings. desires, conflicts, and reconciliations. From September thru June, five days a week, GLADIATOR 79 has run at our theater, our high school. We have all been actors on stage portraying characters in a play, a play without a script, a play whose first performance is its last because every second is different and unrepeatable. This yearbook is the playbill for our performance. It allows us to relive mentally the song and the drama of the past year in our living theater — Goshen Central High School. 2
