The bnnds connecting the Gotham Normal School and the ann of Gotham have ever been sttnng and kindly. The establishment nf this normal schnnl in the ann of Gotham was the direct outgrnwth of the genernns interest of the town and its citizens. The original campus and the first building, equipped and readsr for use. were the gifts of the Town of Gnrham and its pnblic-spirited citizenswa gift more generous than that prneided by any other community in this state for a similar purpnse. Not alnne in this initial gift has the town shnwn its kindly and entiperative spirit. but all through the years nf the Normal Schonlis existence the tnwn has furnished the chil- dren for the campus deninnstratinn and practice schools. The State of Maine has recognized its obligation tn the Town nf Gnrham for these important cnntribntinns by genemns finan+ tial support 0f the sthnnls in which these children were taught.
