mm Under the Big Top, a variety of activities take place. As in a circus, so in our school there is competition for honors and the spotlight, yet co-operation in carrying out the overall program. There is fanfare and pageantry in presentation to the patrons, but a great deal of hard work behind the scenes. While there is much work to be done, there is a great deal of fun in doing it. But life is like that. May the year 1951-52 under the Gorham-Fayette Big Top have been a happy experience for everyone, as well as a source of inspiration for future years under the real world Big Top. ---Principal Russell B. Leuthold The show must go on---and so must your life. You have your role in both, and the success or failure of your performance depends on you alone. The trainers and coaches, parents, church, school, teachers, and books--can help you prepare your act, but the final performance is up to you. No star ever reached lasting greatness either through some one else's work or by his own sporadic efforts. He got there by struggle, long and steady. The boy and the girl of today cast the shadow of the man and the woman of tomorrow. -----Superintendent Melvin R. Harman

Our Big Top Behind the scenes working for the success of the whole program is the Board of Education. So often in the excitement of production activities, their efforts are unnoticed. The Class of 52 pays special tribute here to this group of men whose time and work has made the greatest show on earth possible for them. LEFT TO RIGHT: Joseph Dodd. Clair Shipman, Glen Noble. Melvin Harman, Gaylord Schaffner, Gordon St. Clair, and Carl Treat.
