CLASS HISTORY In the year 1940, the circus troupe of '52 began its twelve year climb to the top of the Big Top. The following were the original members of the troupe: Harvey Bacon, Mary Baldwin, Dean Bates, Mary Beaverson, Martha Borton, Merle Boyd, Delores Brackman, Bill Davis, Lyle Dopp, Delbert Felkey, Paul Ford, Carolyn Fruchey, Robert Gallup, Charles Hausch, Harold Keefer, Dorothy Lukens, Larry Long, Nora Mae Nash, Vernon O'Brien, Mildred Severence, Nancy Vernier, Gene Wilson and William Stites. Miss Wiseman was the first ring mistress. Miss Christensen replaced Miss Wiseman as the ring Mistress in the second year of our seasonal performance. Norville Cramer, Jack Jewell, Robert Layman, Doyce Merrillat, and Betty Calvin replaced Harvey Bacon, Bill Davis, Lyle Dopp, Vernon O'Brien, Mildred Severence, and William Stites on the circus roster. Bill Davis returned to the ranks again, for the third season on the road; and Junior Miller added his name to the list of stars. During the year, Evelyn Baldwin and Nancy Vernier withdrew. Miss LaSalle was the manager this year. The fourth year, Mrs. Fisher took over the job of training the twenty-three members of the troupe. Gerald Kuney, Mary Lou Uhler, Wanda Wollett, and Barbara Griffin joined the list of performers this year. The group lost Delbert Felkey, Robert Layman and Charles Hausch. The fifth season the circus stopped at Fayette, it was headed by a new proprietress, Miss Hazel Robinson. The new members this year were Len Mitchell and Howard Foster. Mrs. Marjorie Johnson was the ring mistress in 1946. During this year, Len Mitchell withdrew from the troupe and Wayne Baldwin and Barbara Ford joined. The new performers also included Janice Sutherland and Franklin Shiffler. In 1947, the gang entered its seventh season with Mr. Galloway as the overseer. This year Wayne Baldwin and Wanda Wollet withdrew and Bob Sentle joined the troupe. In the eighth year, Mr. Glinka was the ring master. Jack Jewell and Gerald Kuney did not continue with the troupe this year, but three new hands were added: Julia Barber, Glen Layman, and Robin Wannemacher. The year 1949 found the troupe under the proprietorship of Mr. Antel. To the old gang were added Marlene Beaverson, Anna Bell, Gary Borton, Denny Grimm, Jane Leininger, Carol Lucas, Lowell McGowan, Carl Miller, Pauline Roth, Dale Schang and Pauline May. This year the big show lost Evelyn Bailey, Anna Bell, Denny Grimm, Carl Miller, and Pauline May. The year 1950 found the company making its tenth annual stop at Fayette High School. Later on in the season. Ella Mae Dunno and Janice Blust were added to the list of performing artists. The trainer for this season was Mr. Green, who is especially well-known for his ability to handle animals. During the eleventh year with the company, Lowell McGowan dropped from the roster and Colenzo Short and Bob Shull were added to the list of performers. The ring master this year was Mr. Boyd. The year 1952 was the twelfth and final year for stopping at Fayette. The star performers for this year were Dean Bates, Marlene Beaverson, Mary Beaverson, Gary Borton, Martha Borton, Merle Boyd, Delores Brackman, Norville Cramer, Bill Davis, Ella Mae Dunno, Barbara Ford, Paul Ford, Bob Gallup, Barbara Griffin, Harold Keefer, Jane Leininger, Carol Lucas, Dorothy Lukens, Nora Mae Nash, Pauline Roth, Bob Sentle, Colenzo Short, Bob Shull, Janice Sutherland, Shirley Swartzendruber, Richard Taylor, Mary Lou Uhler, Edith Warren, Robin Wannemacher, Gene Wilson, and Donelda Wright. The troupe lost Shirley Swartzendruber and Janice Blust during the year. The ring master this year, who helped the troupe to develop and present their final performance under the Big Top of Fayette High was Mr. Leuthold. CLASS WILL We the Senior class of 1952, being of sane mind and sound body, do create and lawfully declare this document to be our final will and testament. To the Faculty we will the books and ideas we did not absorb or use. To the Juniors, we will our private homeroom and ability to listen and learn from those who know! To the Sophomores, we will the ability to prepare and give a Jr. -Sr. Banquet and the urge to study and learn. To the Freshmen, we will the ability to make the most of their time and to use the advice of the teachers. We personally bequeath the following: Dean Bates wills his saxophone to Carolyn Schang and his chess playing to Richard Green. Marlene Beaverson wills her blonde hair to Beverly Ives and her honor of being the F. F. A. Chapter Sweetheart to any girl who thinks she can cope with so many sweethearts. ” Mary Beaverson wills her cow milking to Gilbert St. Clair and her Alvordton class ring to Rosalie Shaffer. Martha Borton wills her ability to lead the cheers to Darrell Hibbard and her trouble getting idea's to Leland Fahringer. Delores Brackman wills the honor of attending Girls’ State to some Junior girl and her clarinet to her sister Susan, who has already taken over. Gary Borton wills his little Plymouth to Phyllis Ernest, and his farming ability to Ora Alleman. Norville Cramer wills his happy-go-lucky-ways to Barbara Ann Ford and his artistic ability to Sharron Griffin. Bill Davis wills his butch to Edwin Schmidt and his Hudson girl to anyone who thinks they can get her. Ella Mae Dunno wills her chemistry book to Bob Kizer and membership in the Student Council to Burnell Venia. Barbara Ford wills her co-editor position on the Eaglezette Staff to Harvey Johnson and her big-feet to Barbara Walker. Paul Ford wills his drum to Phyllis Beaverson and his basketball suit to Earl Ferguson. Robert Gallup wills his shyness of girls to Dick Stowell and his big imagination to Jackie Love. Barbara Griffin wills her tomboyishness to Virginia Bacon and her presidency of student council to Gerald Green. Harold Keefer wills his car to Sally Wolfe and his quiet disposition to Maynard Raker. Jane Leininger wills her typing speed to Carolyn Tingle and her shortness to Gerald Ford. Carole Sue Lucas wills her glasses to Jack Gleason and her sewing ability to June Graf. Dorothy Lukens wills her oboe to Freddie Shadbolt and her cheerleading suit to Eleanora Covelaski. Nora Mae Nash wills her fingernails to anyone who bites theirs and her clarinet to Eddie Allen. Pauline Roth wills her flirtatious manner to Mary Lou Deefer and her small and tiny figure to Wilma Liby. Bob Sentle wills his love of sports to James Borton and his bookkeeping book to Betty Siegel. Bob Shull wills his ability to argue to Bill Ballin and his flirtatious manner to James Thomas. Colenzo Short wills his jeep to Bud Clark and his black hair to Roger Borton. Janice Sutherland wills her sweet disposition to everyone and her Morenci F. F. A. ring to Linda Lichtenwald. Richard Taylor wills his Chev to Janice Sutton and his task of running the movie projector to Glenda Beaverson. Mary Lou Uhler wills her alto clarinet to Charles Hatcher and her laugh to Keith Allion. Robin Wannemacher wills his camera to Frank Wilson and his dancing ability to Mary Katsoris. Edith Warren wills her small figure to Barbara Huyck and her giggles to Gary Fidler. Donelda Wright wills her dancing ability to Mable Beaverson and her State Homemaker Degree to any girl who can achieve it. Gene Wilson wills his red hair to Nancy Brackman and his clowning ways to Joan Towne. In testimony whereof, we hereunto set our seal and declare this to be our last will and testament in the presence of the witnes- as named below, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hindred and fifty-two.
