While looking through the snapshots of our Class in 1939, we see seventeen members who were just starting to school. They were: Evelyn Bailey, Richard Borton, Jean Brackman, Virginia Climo, Eugene Dietrich, Mary Ann Double, Grace Eckert, Marion Hayman, Marlene King, Gerald Kuney, Carol Jean Quillet, Richard Schaffner, Joan Smith, Von Smith, and Buddy Storrs. Our teacher for this year was Miss Alma Spring. In the next picture we see, we are across the hall in the second grade, where we can see Miss Mary Jane Altman at her desk, trying to teach her pupils. The new pupils this year were: Lowell Beaverson, Edith Felkey, Jean Mettert, Betty Stewart, and Sylvia Stockman. As we recall after three months vacation we were proud to pass by the office and go into the third grade room. The newpupilsthis year were Richard Bacon, Lois Gwinn, Glen Layman, John Taylor; while we lost Mary Ann Double and Marlene King. Our teacher this year was Mrs. Lola Stowe 11. Here's another picture and just think, we were in the fourth grade and here's our picture with Miss Eva LaSalle as our teacher. The new members in our class this year were: Carol Beaverson, Gwendolyn Croninger, Jo Ann Fidler, and Vada Klopfenstein. Again we find still another picture where we are traveling up the stairway to the fifth grade, with Mrs. Hazel Thompson as teacher. Eight new members joined our class this year. They included: Shirley Barnhart, Verl Moringstar, Bonnie Schoonover, Janice Sutherland, Dale Wolworth, Ward Joughin, Richard Griffin, and George Stites. We lost Shirley Barnhart. Our sixth year took us past the study hall, to the far end of the hall, where our teacher was Mrs. Marjorie Johnson. The new members of our class this year were: Dale Alpaugh, Charles Shiffler, and Mary Jane Stoner. Duringour seventh year we felt very proud to walk into the study hall and study beside the upper classmen. Our instructor for this year was Mr. Glen Gallaway. The only new member in our class was Betty Fruchey. As we can see in this picture our eighth grade instructor is Mr. Dane Caulkins. The new members which joined our class this year were: Joene Gardner, Donald Ikerd, Lynn Knisely, Ruth Taylor, Patricia Thompson, George Williams, Raymond Kenny, and Barbara Allgire. The next year took us into the ninth grade, where we had as our sponsor. Miss Ruth Berger. The new members of our class this year were: Dorthea Barnes, Joan Ely, Mary Ellen Schaffner, Charles Turner, and Marlene Wannemacher. We can see in this picture so clearly and it is our tenth year of school. Mr. Charles Bosse is sponsor of our class. Two members which joined our class this year were: Phyllis Aspin and Dale Pfund. We can see in our eleventh year that Mr. Paul Boyd is sponsor of our class. We are very busy working to make some money, having a successful Junior Plan, and planning to fill the Seniors with good food and a grand time at the Junior and Senior Banquet at Potawatomi Inn in Pokagon State Park. There were no new members this year, and we lost only one member, Donald Ikerd. Now we are finally nearing the end of sight seeing through these past twelve years. We have seen that there were seven members that stayed with us all through these twelve years. They are: Richard Borton, Grace Eckert, Harold Kunkle, Richard Schaffner, Joan Smith, Von Smith, and Bud Storrs. Lynn Knisely was president of our class and Mr. Russell Leuthold was sponsor of our Senior Class. We hope you will recall these pleasant memories with us. . Jristo ¥ Ruth Taylor Mary Ellen Schaffner
