The purpose of the Girl Reserves is to promote good feeling among girls. Through many interesting activities each girl strives to become the ideal Girl Reserve who is gracious in manner, impartial in judgement, ready for service, loyal to friends, reaching toward the best, eager for knowledge, seeking the beautiful, earnest in purpose, reverent to God, victorious to one’s self, ever dependable and sincere at all times. The work of the Girl Reserves is greatly helped by the Women’s Council, which helps raise money for club projects and activities. Freshman girls are eligible for membership. 18

Our Hi-Y organization is a branch of the National Y. M. C. A. It endeavors to promote ideals of Christian character. Membership is open to those who are selected for the honor by the active members of the group, but admission is seldom denied those who earnestly seek it. The Future Farmers of America is a national organization for farm boys enrolled in Vocational Agriculture in High School. There are four degrees: Green Hand, Future Far- mer, State Farmer and American Farmer. In addition to their regular meetings, these boys carry on many interesting projects, such as; exhibits at county and state fairs, local corn husking contests, judging contests, spraying program, treating seed wheat, oats, corn and potatoes, Grange programs, pest hunts, annual outings and many other things. Its purpose is to develop in agriculture students a deep interest in Agriculture, to train each boy in leadership, organization, character, thrift, co-operation, scholarship, recreation, citizenship, service and patriotism. 19
