Fr. Louis Gracz, CR-the molding force behind Gordonites for fourteen years. Father Louis Gracz, CR, will long be re- membered for his services at Gordon Tech. Father was with Gordon since its founding in l95l. Later, when he became principal, he strived continually to improve the school. Be- cause of the limitations of the building on Division Street, the present site of Gordon Tech was chosen. Father Gracz was retained as principal after construction on the new building was completed. As principal, Father Gracz was a very efli- cient worker and leader. His efforts to increase and better Gordon's curriculum resulted in many awards for the student body. ln his linal year at Gordon, father witnessed an increased enrollment from the original four hundred to two thousand students. Father Gracz has im- printed upon the minds of Gordonites the true meaning of devotion and service by exem- plifying these things in himself. Although Father Gracz is no longer physically present at our school, he will long be remembered as a vital contributor to the ideals of a true Gor- donite. l-r, Graez gives a parting remark tothe student body Mr. Peter Morrison takes a closer look at the plaque given tw Fr. Gracz by members of the faculty and student body. emu! , ..., W-shxwsx-6 M-www M.,

The school motto, ad viros faciendosw- to the making of men, is the keystone upon which the new administration will augment the traditions ol' Gordon Tech. Father Wal- ter M. Wilczek, CR, the new principal, changed the school seal and a new student handbook was organized. Students were placed on a track system to enable them to work with those of their own ability. Classes were lengthened and the study period was placed in the middle of the day. The grading sys- tem was changed to letter grades and the quarter semester system was adopted. Stu- dents were also ollered various types ol' elec- tives to complement their curriculum. Departments were organized so that all meet monthly with their chairman, who in turn, meet with the principal and discuss pertinent details covered during the individual meetings. The student council also took on a new format. The Guidance Department suggested candidates for the various class of- ficers on the basis of their past scholastic achievement. W v Rev.
