Jewell Places Second In District Science Fai Twelve Gordon Lee students traveled to Berry College to par- ticipate in the 1980 District Sci- ence Fair on Friday, March 21, 1980. Ellen Jewell placed second in the field of earth sciences. Third place winners were Donna Brown in botany, Beth Scott in physics, and James Smith in mathematics and computer sciences. Fourth place Winners were Joey Andrews, Tim Dean, and Rhonda Vaughn in zoology. Jim Ekvall also won a fourth place in the category of physics. Other winners of the local sci- ence fair who traveled to district science fair were Jeana Duncan and David Smith in botany, Lori Littleton in chemistry, and Jim- my Owens in engineering. its 1 . Senior Trip Hjghligh ts Those Last Few Weeks Of School The senior class traveled to Callaway Gardens Monday, May 12. The bus left the school around 7:15 a.m. They enjoyed bike riding, swim- ming, walking, canoeing, and paddle boating. Some played golf T ' e 'Q it-43.41353 T T -4 .Tv z.'lL h ' and tennis. As a grand finale to the seniors' day in the sun, the boys filled coolers With water and surprised- several unsuspecting girls. The seniors returned home with many fun memories and laughs to look back upon.
