presented At L1terary Meet Gordon'Lee came home with a second place trophy after the final events of the Region 6A Literary Meet. The meet was held March 14 at Floyd Junior College in Rome, Georgia. Gordon Lee placed second with 67 points. The first place winners were as follows: Girls' Extemporaneous Speaking - Regina Phil- lips, Boys' Typing - Phil Deal, Home Eco- nomics - Karen Gilbreathg Shorthand - Tracy Brockg and Boys' Piano - Marty Laird. Trish McGinnis placed second in Girls' Essay as well as' Brian McDaniel, Britt Henderson, Marty Laird, and Kevin Ford in Boys' Quar- tet. Kevin Ford placed third in Boys' Solo along with Craig Catlett in Boys' extempora- neous Speaking, Trish McGinnis in Girls' Spelling and Leanne Scott in Girls' Solo. The fourth place winners were Karen Beagles in Girls' Oral Interpretation and Debbie Clem, Missy Barrett, and Leanne Scott in Girls' Trio. First place winners, Regina Phillips, Phil Deal, Karen Gilbreath, Tracy Brock, and Marty Laird traveled to Mercer University, April 4, for the State Literary Meet. Karen Gilbreath and Phil Deal both placed third in this meet. Mr. Yother, Mrs. Miller, and Miss Bourgaize sponsored the students in the event.
