Trojan Band The Gordon Lee High School Band , under the direction of Mr. Mike McCorsley, participated in many activi- ties this year. Besides traveling to football games, they went to three marching contests and one playing con- ICSI. The band went to Bristol, Va. - Tenn. to participate in the Southeastern Marching Band Festival where they earned a Division II - excellent rating. The Color Guard received a Division II also. Majorettes received a Division III - good rating, and the Drum Majorette received the 1st place trophy in Class D. The band participated in the Tri-State Marching Festival at Bradley Co. Stadium, Cleveland, Tenn. where they won their first Division I - superior rating. The color Guard, Majorettes, and the Drurn Majorette also received a Division I. The band also traveled to Rome, Ga. to participate in the Peachstate Marching Festival at Baron Stadium where they won another Division I. The Color Guard received a Division II, Majorettes, and the Drum Major- ette received a Division I. The Concert Band attended the Georgia Music Educators Association Playing Festival at East Rome High School , Rome, Ga. They received a Division II in the Performance and a Division I in sightreading. The Concert Band also performed in a Christmas Concert and a Spring Concert. The band is supported solely by the Band Boosters Club. The Boosters work hard to send the band to contests and camp and to buy new uniforms and instruments. A banquet is held every year and band members are awarded letters, the Most Improved Player Award, the Instrumental Achievement Award, the Jeff Osburn Leadership Award, the John Phillip Sousa Award, and the Band Booster Scholarship. n mmm Sanken In Grogan 'Bunk .
