4 Anne Martin as Eliza Doolittle and Jim Zweigler as Professor Higgins are shown at Ascot with some of England's elite society. Talent, Practice, Hard Work Make ' Fair Lad i' A Success My Fair Lady , described as wise, witty, winning, elegant and superb , was chosen by director Alan Lemery as this year's musical production. Casting was begun in June with intensified rehearsals start- ing in September for the November 9, 1967 opening night. The play ran for four nights of two weekends -November 9 and 1 1 3 and 16 and 18, By far, the most well-known musical of their career, Lerner and Loewe made it famous for such songs as Wouldn't lt Be Loverly , With a Little Bit of Luck , I Could Have Danced All Night , 'iOn The Street Where You Live , and Get Me To The Church On Time . The story adapted from Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion , is about a young flower girl, Eliza, who is determined to become a lady through the help of a rather self-centered professor, Henry Higgins. The scene is set in early 1900's England. Leading roles went to Ann Martin and Dianne Hull who alternated the lead as Eliza Doolittle, Jim Zweigler as Professor Henry Higgins, Dan Mauthe as Colonel Hugh Pickering, Steve Groh as Alfie Doolittle, and Steve Krueger as Freddy Eynsford-Hill. 18 Alfred.P. Doolittle, Steve Groh, puts on his make-up for the evening's performance of My Fair Lady.
