Junior Class '-13 Ron Brajdic Gloria Anderson Cathy Liacopoulos Ion Brown PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE We, the class of '61, will be expected to provide the fine leader- ship to soar to great heights--both scholastically and athletically. Our success will depend on such factors as leadership, ambi- tion, character, responsibility, and desire. Because we have these qualities, many have faith in us. It is for us to better our standards as we journey the path of life. RON BRAIDIC In the summer of 1960, the future senior class will take great pleasure in doing two things: looking behind into the past and looking ahead into the future. As we glance over the past school year, our many accomplishments are unfolded before our eyes. We see our high school football team, which was enriched with many juniors, enjoying victories in both the Homecoming game and the clash with Oshkosh. In the-stands at Homecoming were Cathy Liacopoulos and Ann Sheridan who represented us on the Queen's court. Governing our junior class were Ron Brajdic, president: Ion Brown, vice-president: Cathy Liacopou- los, secretary: and Gloria Anderson, treasurer. In recognition of her scholastic record and wonderful personality, Ann Tonjes was chosen by the American Field Service to spend the summer with a foreign family abroad. Looking back at this year's district music festival, which was held in Berlin, we see that top ratings were received by many of our juniors. The soloists who received first place awards and who have represented Goodrich at the State Festival in Madison were Art Kaemmer, Cathy Liacopoulos and Steve Eckles. Looking back at our sports achievements, we see that the squads were bolstered by the -exceptional talent and ability of our juniors. Leading the way were Dick Bender, Ron Brajdic, Ion Brown, Iim Flaherty, lack Nussbaum and Larry Mueller. In conclusion we may say that this year's junior class should not be considered lightly. We expect great things from our future senior class. Page Thirty-five

Foreign Exchange Student HELGE TOLLESH1-lUGe e Spanish Club 3 Secretary: Dramatics Club 3: lntramurals: Volleyball: Hi-Eye Staff 37 Senior Class Play: Honor Roll Cl sems.J It has been said many times before that traveling abroad broadens your horizon, and of course it is true, or it wouldn't have become such a trite, old saying. But I believe that stay- ing in a foreign country for a long period of than merely moving the old horizons further you see new ones. You sort of get the feel you are, to a large extent, converted to its eand misunderstandings disappear Cwhich time does more away: it makes of the country 7 way of thinking is the important thingl. At the same time, you have the op- portunity to crack down on a few miscon- ceptions about your own country. This is what I have been doing on a small scale-I can only hope I haven't added too much to international confusion. Finding out about the American way of life has been the most enjoyable experience I have had. All the extracurricular activities I have joined have proved to be a lot of fun, and so have basketball games and football games. For instance, during this schoolyear, I've met lots and lots of very nice kids-I know that many of them will be among the most won- derful people l'll ever meet-and I'd like to thank you all for being that way to me, par- ticularly all of you who have put in so much effort to let me come over here. Best of luck in the fu- ture! HELGE TOLLESHAUG Page Thirty-f
