cflass Iistoryw One September 2, 1940, twelve boys and girls, timid and frightened, entered the kindergarten room of Miss Hosfield. That day the class of 59 began. Our class consisted of Terry Buck, Alice Cich, Robert Dickie, Jean Engles, Roy Engles, Robert Glass, Russell Hawley, Lyman Jensen, Helen Lukazuski, Elsie Schjoth, Doris Vrens, and John Wozniak. ln the year of 51 , Armstrong contributed ten new students to our class. However, with the increase there was also a decrease as four students entered St. Joan of Arc School. ln 1955 we were reunited as freshmen in Goodman High. Our initiation kept those days memorable to us. We also took second place with our Homecoming float. ln our sophomore year, we became professionals fwe thought, at the word, high school. With more courage we put a patent on a well known Victory Dance. We also had the honor of having one of our boys on the first ten in basketball. The lucky one was Paul Jankowski . Our iunior year was a very busy year, starting off with freshman initiation. We must say the frosh looked very charming. Then our minds were centered around the traditional school paper. We selected for its title, The Falcon Flash. We then put every conceivable effort into making our prom a successful one. The very beautiful song, Sail Along Silvery Moon, became our theme. We choose Paul Jankowski as king and Frances Frydrych as queen. We think our prom was very lovely and enioyable for everyone who attended. At this time we would like to thank Mr. Huennekens, Mr. Kraemer, and Mr. Anderson for all the assistance they gave us. Now we are seniors, and our history as a class will soon come to an end. Our main ambi- tion was to publish the annual, Echo, choosing Lyman Jensen, and Gloria Lukaszek as Co- editors, with Mr. Kraemer as our advisor this is the result of our efforts. We presented our class play, You Can't Kiss Caroline, on March 6, 1959. Mrs. Paske was our energetic advisor. Our class motto is, Tonite We Launch, Where Shall We Anchor, our colors are White and Blue and our flower is the Blue Rose. There are now twenty-four of us in the class of 59 ---Terry Buck, Lois Cox, Jim Dallmann, Alice Duda, Frances Frydrych, Shirley Galardo, Lynn Giere, Bernie Gilewski, Russell Hawley, Darryl Huennekens, Paul Jankowski, Lyman Jensen, Chuck Kalkofen, Theresa Lockwood, Janice Kuchinski, Sophie Lubinski, Gloria Lukaszek, John Maruszczak, John Pastemak, Joe Renkas, Agnes Sagan, Elsie Schioth, Barbara Wolosyn, and John Wozniak. Our Baccalaureate Service was held on May 24, 1959, and Graduation Day, May 29, 1959 will bring to a close the eventful clays of the class of 1959 at Goodman High School.
