“C L A S S H I S T O R Y T e- 9 OO A N Place' Goodland Grade School Date September of l93o Roll Call Dolores Allen Laverne Barbour Charlotte Bokma Edwin Bond Jacquelyn Buckle Eva Cudworth Beth Dalton harilyn Dorton Charles Duvall Roberta Fox Rita Gilsinger Irma Jean Hamilton Teddy Hanna Guy Hoaks Hazel Hoaks John Johnson Glenn Keller Harry wedlock James hedlock Helen Ningear Genevieve Miiller Ralph Nevitt Eugene Pearson Rovena Rainwater Jackie Rouhier Datfd Ruhmkorff Richard Schneidt Earl James Scripter Helen Sell Norma Jean Slayter Howard Smith Helen Stombaugh Lawrence Turner Ardeth Welsh Joan Lyons Martha Wilham The scene opens in M155 H0ggn'3 first grade room where she was distractedly trying to help all of us get the seats we wanted and the books we needed finally we were all sat isfied and school began After gfeat dfort Miss Hogannanaged to teach us our letters and numbers by the end of the year ve found ourselves dter ashort vacation backin school hiss Meade was our second grade teacher The year was high li hted by an art exhibit All of us worked very hard in an attempt to have our work chosen for the exhibit All of us were promoted to the third grade, and the fol lowing September found us in Miss neMaster s room This was quite a change from the first and second grade, for we learned to multiply and dlvide and write with pen and ink Niss answ ours w IG many ewasters was very patient with us whennmr mathematical rs failed to be correct or when we spilled ink all over lves Dome of us were quite pro d when we learned to be fairies in the school operetta We enjoyed the pax ties we had, and the best one was the cne atthe endcf school where we learned that we w re to be in the fourth gr ade next fall when we started back to school aga1n,we found ourselves in a nev room with a cifferent teacher, Niss McGraw patient ly tried to teach us to draw, however, most of us were not artists when September rolled around again, we felt very grown up as we climbed the stairs to the fifth grade room To add to our feeling of being grown up, we w re also allowed t play on the nbign side of the play ground Miss Thompson was assigned the task of try ng to teach us In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, we had social studies This was also the year we modeled clay Clay modeling brought mostly chagrln, for every evening we came home with our clothes smeared with clay The autumn of l94l found us in our last year of grade school with Niss Verrill as our class teacher Mr Miles taught us health, and Miss McGraw taught us soap carving Al though we worked diligently, the year passed slowly as we anxiously awaited our promotion im 0 . . 0 lo 1 Q . f- . . a A l F A 1 1 .
