B. T. H. S. This was the largest Freshmen class of any except of last year. We were properly initiated with five-by-two-feet boards by the upper classmen. This fun UD continued daily each morning until Mr. McLaughlin said otherwise. .A great many who are in our class began together in the Public School of Sesser, and intend to do so until the graduation day Doeth we apart . We have always had a record of being a real bright and studi- ous class-that was in the grades of course. Last 'year we surprised the public by being able to successfully stage the play The Little Clodhopper which netted us quite a sum of money. With this we bought a set of Encyclopedias and left them at the public school. As we look back over the record we find Harry and Mary L. Irvin are attending school in Champaign. We have found that United we stand, divided we fall, so we have united as a class and have elected Miss Gumm as sponsor, Edgar Walker as president, Eflie Ola Lewis as vice-president, and Eugene McGinnis as secretary-treasurer. The High School have elected Jesse Johnson, Jr., as the yell leader. Our class colors are purple and white and our ambition is to keep climbing higher. 4 Our school activities have been somewhat limited this year. However, we have had some real good times. The Hallowe'en party of the Sophomores and Freshmen'was especial- ly a memorable time. The Misses Gumm and Corbly received first prize as being the most comically masked. gMiss Gumm was the tiny, timid, crying baby in the carriage, while her sweet little devoted mother was Miss Corbly. Ida Walker won the prizeXNfXor being the masked person no one knew. X The basket ball boys have played many ganies with the Eighth Grade but have never been defeated, they hope as they go on they will make a star team for the High School. When we reach the dignified Senior year' we hope to have the largest class of graduates that has been in High School. -Ruby Oglesby--Efiie Ola Lewis.
