B. T. H. S. Line , There aboard this train a large number of intelli- gent looking girls and boys all bound for the same destination, all filled with a keen desire to gain all the knowledge possible. They were all overjoyed, probably over our success in staging our Commencement Play a few night before, or because we looked forward with much in- terest to that four years journey ahead. Our first stoppage was at a queer little place called Freshmen Town. At this place, customs and people were all strange and un- known to us and we felt timid and shy. Toward the close of that thrilling day Mr. Black, the ruler of that place, met with us and helped us elect Earl Dillon as our President, Ruth Ward, Vice President, and Stanton Jolley, secretary-treasurer. As time rolled on and our work had been planned and we began to portray our skill and to show what we were capable of doing. We shone in all social activities, enjoying numerous weiner roasts, banquets and parties. To us the greatest event of the year was the track and field meet in which we won a beautiful banner over which we were highly elated. As basket ball was causing a great sensation we took part and Big John was put on Varsity team and has prospects df becoming a great athlete. In September, 1922, we left that town which we will all well remember, for Sophomore Town . There were only twenty-six of our large number left-some stayed in Freshmen Town , others lost hope of ever reaching their goal and dropped out. During the first few weeks we elected Ruth Ward as President, Randall Mezo as Vice-President, and Chesta Yung as Secretary-Treasurer. We entered our work there with all the pride and dignity of newly-made Sophs . Next December, 1923, there landed into Junior Town eigh- teen culutred and refined people. But alas, new faces took the places of those so famiiar to us, but under these new authorities-we have im- proved greatly. We have retained our pep and alertness, as was shown in our Salvation Army Contest in which we were winners of the prize. They have many prospects of musicians, singers, authors and almost every type of talent in our small class. N.
