of the ie college shield which is inscribed on our ring. Few of us wore gloves to the Christmas dinner the next evening so that we might keep gazing at our beautiful garnets. A heavy snowstorm sent those who live at a distance home before the carol night pageant, but there were still sufficient carolers to fill the ranks. The moon shone full on the fresh snow, revealing the brilliant costumes of the kings and pages. After Bene- diction in the chapel we departed for home to spend the Christmas holidays. January arrived and the imminent threat of examinations was before us, but like all other tests, they, too, passed away. Mrs. Veronica Dengel in her series of lectures aimed to bring about a campaign for self-improvement. The Mission Bridge was held again at the Hotel New Yorker. Clare Bender was chairman of the affair, so we felt it a special feat of our class when the bridge was so successful. Rehearsals for Career Angel and the Clee Club Concert were numerous in early spring. The play was presented on March first. The concert was given at the end of the month at the Hotel Plaza in New York. On the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Philosophy Symposium was held. The topic of discussion was '4The Family . We as participating members of the Aquinas Philosophy Club beamed forth from the front rows at our colleagues who had prepared and deliv- ered important themes on G'The Familyw. That month brought the first fair St. Patrick's Day during our college years and it was with great pride that Fifth Avenue in New York to take ' ' we paraded up part 1n the celebration. significance of tl A banquet tribute to the seniors

.-I group from the class of 19-10. NX ith April approaching. the Lenten play hecame the next calendar event. lt was The Second Cluuzee and the Juniors comprised a large part of the cast. Also in keeping with the season were the Lenten sermons delivered each Friday by the Reverend Morgan J. tTBrien. The Easter vacation arrived. the magnolias hloomcd and the dogwood and rhododen- drons around Our Ladyis Shrine made an exquisite scene. Wie returned from the holidays and counted the days that remained until graduation. A meeting ofthe Science Hound 'liahle was held at Good Counsel. On that occasion a valuable lecture was given hy the Reverend joseph Lynch. SJ.. of Fordham University. The following week Dr. Ross Hoffman. also of Fordham, visited our college and addressed us on the topic of the Li. N. U. Suddenly the excitement of the week of final examinations loomed up hefore us. Attendant upon it. however. was the enjoyment of final cluh parties. Meanwhile we still practiced Emitte Spiritum Tuumn and The Pilgrimis Chorus for the graduation exercises. ln spite of threats the weather was clear for pine walk ceremony and we heeame seniors as we received our lighted candles from those in the departing class. rllllls ceremony and the junior-senior hanquct were happy occasions for us hut they were also tinged with sorrow, for as we hade farewell to another senior class, we realized that just a year from then we would say adieu to our college days. Happily, though, we looked to our senior year. and amid the tolling of our chapel hells. we uttered a sincere prayer that Cod would make us worthy of performing our duty as seniors-of upholding tht- high ideals of Good Counsel College. 28
