though she were commuting from New York to New Jersey. She is leaving again on Thursday. Travel reminds me that I had better make a note of Cathlecn Cullen's arrival next Sun- day. She is flying from Ireland where she has been gathering material for her book, The History of Ireland. She is to be godmother for Marjorie Delaney's daughter. Very shortly Helen Larkin is going to go on vacation for awhile. I fear the public will miss her bril- liant interpretations and comments on current events, but I am relieved to see that she is finally going to take a rest. I'Ielen's future plans include collaborating with Juliana Burkard on the writing of a book that is to be the official text on international law for use in the World Court. Memo No. 5: Gallagher promotion. We are going to try something new this week in connection with Gallagher cosmetics. Doris has wisely bought exclusive rights to June Schinto's amazing product, a new type of stocking which Barbara Aylesworth has promised to boost in her column in La. Prensa. We are fortunate that the new stocking has been given the Cicciarella seal of approval. That is absolutely the highest medical endorsement possible today. Trying to sell our new product without it would be like trying to sell a child's formula that had not been tested in Mother Johnston's Chemical Kitchen. It was Marguerite's large family that started her experimenting along nutri- tional lines. Then Anne Fay, one of the leading child specialists in the country, advised her to make some serious studies. Of course, Anne,s work encompasses all aspects of child welfare. Her introduction of typing to the grammar school curriculum caused a national sensation. Anne feels that one is never too young to start building up that speed. Memo No. 6: Luncheon - Long Island. Oh, I almost forgot it. We are going over to Rosemarie Steropolils home on Long Island. She and her sportswriter husband were recently chosen the couple of the month by a leading women's magazine. I am sure Rosemarie would have become one of the interior decorators of the country if she had not decided on marriage. The luncheon is in honor of Jane Markey who has been named Woman of the Year . Her newspaper work has had outstanding influence on the public. One oiclock is the time for the luncheon. I must hustle. One more minute. Memo - Check the memos! JOAN OGILVIE 113

LU' 0 good Comrade O Virgin Mother, Lady of Good Counsel Sweetest picture artist ever drew, In all my doubts I fly to thee for guidance - Mother, tell me, what am I to do? By thy face to Jesus' face inclining, Sheltered safely in thy mantle blueg By His little arms around thee twining, Mother, tell me, what am I to do? By the light within thy dear eyes dwelling, By the tears that dim their lustre too, By the story that these tears are telling, Mother., tell me, what ani I to do? Life, alas! is often dark and dreary, Cheating shadows hide the truth from viewg Wlien my soul is most perplexed and weary, Mother, tell me, what am I to do? These four long years welve nestled ,neath thy mantle, By thy side we've wandered day by day, Now time has beckoned with his ruthless finger, And ,alas our steps are turned away. Those dear eyes will follow where we wander, Those loved arms will strengthen us anew, And those fond ears will listen when we whisper MM0ther, tell me, what am I to do?
