MR. LlLLEY MR. MCLEISH PRINCIPAl'S MESSAGE Enrollment during this past year has been the largest in the history of the school. This increased enrollment is gratifying to those engaged in the field of education. lt is an indication that young people are beginning to realize that many years must be spent in preparation for life as an individual in this com- plex modern society. An education in this age of science is much more vital than during the period of our forefathers. Life's problems are more complex, competition in industry is keener, and oppor- tunities for sustenance are lessened. More time is provided for leisure and individuals have to be trained for the proper use of idle time. The great problem in school work is to determine what changes or adjustments in the educational program are necessary to meet the demands of society, and how best to make these adjustments within the school program. Accomplishments must be preceded by preparation. l-low you use today will determine how tomorrow will use you, X M. HATTAN H. HILL i l R. FORCE W. SECREST E. BOUGHER E. PITMAN A. DIAS K. ABBOTT B. HBR it Senior Class ol 1931 We are very big frogs in a very small puddle, but we make just as big a splash and do the same things as anybody any place. We are the best Gonzales has ever had. We've done great things in our past. The play was an achievement, the sports would've been helpless without us, and the clubs would've lacked life without the magic of our presence. Piini and Hampton are our star athletes, Piini having won a sweater for four years on first string football, and Hampton having won medals for running in many track meets. Most ot the girls, we are proud to say, wear Block G's , and are really brainy, too. When we start to do things where the world can see us we will do things that will make the people of our past proud. We are going to be happy. Vice President Bauman, President Rucker, Secretary Collins, Treasurer Onell
