Although the Zag grapplers managed only sixth place in the Big Sky, the initial year produced many future standouts in co-captains' Lance Campbell and Bob Jordan. George Sherman was awarded the Brother Buskins trophy as the most inspirational wrestler. Tom Schaeffer was chosen as the most improved wrestler. ln the Conference match theiZags had one third place fi- nisherg two fourth place finishers, and one fifth place finisher.
