l indent 7V its Any group activity requires of each member some individual and unique talent to make it GO. Such is the case with Gonzaga. Students bring to the university a uniqueness, no matter where they are from. And no matter what they do in common, each displays a talent, whether it is excellence in academics, dra- ma, music, sports, backseat athletics, or having a good time at the local pub. They dance for perform a reasonable facsimilel, cram for exams, fight for that extra hour in the coffee shop. They all do something in a positive manner, with zest. Apathy is OUT. A study of their motives would take sociologists years of study. In any event, there they ore, trying to accomplish an en- richment, of self, of others. Individual talents merge into a cor- poration of active young people. Perched atop this amalgamation of personalities is the presi- dent of the Associated Students. l-le has the task of representing not the typical, but the highest of Gonzaga ideals, those funda- mental somethings that make a mighty man. Campus activities are a little bit of Gonzaga, but they are all of Gonzaga, a mathematical impossibility that says a part equals the whole. Not such a paradox if the essence of Gonzaga is con- tained in its first two letters-GO. A combination of talent and energy makes Gonzagans folks to be reckoned with. Mike Nlachida li.
