Patrolling the stadium during high school games, ushering at important functions, and decorating the gymnasium, were some of its various functions during the year. An impor- tant social event of the year was the dance staged at the Country Club, May 29th. As an honor society, a scholastic average of eighty per cent is required. At games and other school activities, the bearers of the emblematic mask have set examples for gentlemanly and sportsmanlike conduct. The club was composed of about forty members: candidates are admitted at several times during the year. l46l

Independence in the case of the Philippines, was the bone of contention over which the Senior division debated. Natural rights, moral duties on the part of the United States, and the ability of the islands to protect themselves, were arguments thrown at each other's heads in this verbal battle. l45l

The Club plays an important part in all student activities, seeking to foster the spirit of good- fellowship, loyalty, and cofoperation in Gonzaga men, and to preserve the best athletic tradi- tions of the school. Following the Gonzaga-North Central game of last fall, this group sponsored a dance in the school gymnasium in honor of their opponents. Toward the close of the school year the club journeyed to some nearby lake for its annual picnic and initiation of new members. l47l
