It contributed members to the football team, to elocution contests, and to other activities. With respect to this annual, they were behind it to the man. Because of its limited numbers, this group was combined with H-B in inter-class contests, Individuals, however, have distinguished themselves: Dennis Barry, a boxer of note, and James Durkin were members of the High School football team. l30l

John Madden Enthusiasm, While one of the dominating characteristics of ll-B, was by no means its strongest claim for recognition. Educational activities held the attention of these students, not an idle gesture, as evidenced by the advancement of several at the mid-year. Each extra-curricular activity, moneyed, intellectual, or athletic, gained the spirited support of every member. Versatility, too, characterized the Work of many, Peter Higgins, highly touted boxer, and plunging fullback of the city champions, was also a contestant in the elocution contest. J. Rauch played regularly on the Varsity hockey team. Several others, including J. Madden, E. Callan, and H. Curtis, distinguished themselves in football and track. l29l
