'HISTORY On September 3, 1946, sixteen little angels entered the Pearly Gates of Gomer High School, only to find twelve years of hard labor awaiting them. Under the six watnhfdl eyes of Miss Griffiths, Ctwo in her glasses, and two 13 the back of her head? we started to learn the three R's. Carol Sue Metzger and John Smith were chosen to act as the crown bearers for the Halloween Carnival, September 6, l948, finds us in the third grade Among the things we remember most about this year were our love notes, which were found by Mrs. Beougherc The fourth grade was much the same, September 6, 1950, is the date on which we entered the fifth grade with Mrs, Daughtry as our teacher, During these years we began Dreparing for High Schools We started our first club, each eager to become an officer. We felt the blow of discipline in Hplacesu where it hurt, when we would have to go outside the room and get our hands cracked, or stand in the coat-room. In the fall of N52,H Mrs, Jones took on the great task of leading us, and during our eighth year Mr. Ackerman was our advisor. We started our Freshman year with Mr. Sandy as our class advisor. This was the year when we were finally promoted to the Study Hall. Our class officers were Carol Foulkes, Presidentg Carol Metzger, Vice Presidentg Dorothy Micha, Secretaryg and Terry Brenneman, Treasurer. Carol Metzger and Dorothy Mlcha were elected Junior High Cheerleaders out of our class, Carol Metzger and Tom Frysinger were selected as Arch Bearers for the Halloween Carnival. Our Sophomore year started under the guidance of Mrs Bowers, We elected the following officers: Terry Brenneman, Presidentg John Metzger, Vice President, Dlane Roberts, Secretaryg and Sue Evans, Treasurer. We entertained the school with a one act play, nGett1ng Gracie Graduated.n Carol Sue and Dorothy Jane were elected cheerleaders from our class.
