VALEDICTORY Greetings a1l---- and farewell! Well-known paths, halls, classrooms, grounds----farewell! We shall no longer follow the familiar trails nor see the same landmarks. Our paths will be in different directions leading us to new and unexplored areas. Farewell to that which we have lovede---but, we eagerly greet the newl Goodbye to Gomer High! Goodbye to our teachers who have trained us for our future. Their willingness--their very eagerness-eto help, far beyond the call of duty, has been our greatest inspiration. They will live always in our memories. The future anxiously awaits us! Its manifest problems are up to us to adequately meet. We already have a fine start because of the competent preparation we have received from our parents, our teachers, and our spirited classmates. This training, together with our own individual make-up, will help make a new and exciting future in which we hope to be creative and constructive. That is, we hope to be a success. But what is success? To many people it means different things. To some, it is wealth. To others, it is being hold in high esteem. Many are content with just a happy home. Perhaps success can best be defined as making the most of our abilities and being happy in what we are doing. So many people have said that opportunities for the, future are few, that there will be no new inventions, that all discoveries have been made. --what about the very recent developments of satellites and space travel? Surely this should prove to us that we have only begun to inventg we have only begun to discover! ---- Gur opportunities have no limit! ---- Our faith in the future has no bounds. We walk into the future with eagerness, with inquisitive minds and with faith in ourselves, determined to make the most of our own individual aptitudes. l.,,L.Lf..A'L- L f-'k','L'C'

SALUTATORY We, the members of the 1958 graduating class, welcome you to our Commencement Exercises. We appreciate your pre- sence--your kindly interest in being here to witness the Dresentation of our diplomas, the symbol of and reward for twelve momentous years. We wish to thank you for guiding our steps through these years. You gave us advice and courage when we were in need of them. You have attempted to guide us in our steps to adulthood by pointing out to us the way in which a successful person must live. Our future is uncertain, and your guidiance will give us the courage to strive for success. Now, after your faithful years of teaching and prow tection, we shall endeavor to apply our knowledge in everything that we do. The first step we must take is the finding of a place in life which best satisfies our attitudes and desires, In order to do this, we must take advantage of the oppor- tunities which are given to us. Of course, these oopor- tunities will not come to us. We must earn them, After our adjustment in the walk of life which we choose, we must next strive for a successful, enjoyable, and beneficial life. In order to achieve this kind of life, we must be ambitious and do a little more than is expected of us each day. The accomplishments which we make should be completed to the best of our abilities. During the remaining years of our lives, we shall thank each and every one of you for giving us our motto, nThe Beginning-Not The End? We shall apply this motto to our thinking when we meet disappointments and problems in our lives, N 14 K sf ff! 1 sv fri si..
