Charles Aycock happily works on a motor at the Industrial Education Center while fellow classmates look on. Learning to be a photographer, Charles Stafford, a D.O. student, is employed by O'Tuel Studio. Gaining Needed Experience Providing opportunities for students to gain the experience, which serves as a means of meeting day-by-day needs, is the main objective of the courses taught in the Vocational Education Program. With a great many advantages to offer, the Department is divided into the following programs: Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Distributive Education, Diversified Occupations, and a new one conducted at the newly formed Industrial Education Center. Students who select courses from these groups are taught numerous things one would not otherwise have received. Only a few of these are selling hints, grooming procedures, civic intelligence, and many physical skills. Continuous Strive For Accuracy In Business Procedure Playing a vital role in the over-all curricula, not only for the business-minded student but also for the student desiring to advance his education beyond the high school level, with the primary purpose, of training and preparing students effectively for any practical clerical or stenographic position is the Busi- ness Department at Goldsboro High School. With the aid of three certified teachers, four Typing I classes are taught, one Typing II, two Bookkeeping I, two Shorthand I, one Shorthand II, two General Business, and three Business English classes are taught. Assets equal Liabilities plus Proprietorship. This fundamental bookkeeping equation is learned by all first year students. All Are Recent College Graduates Miss Clayton obtained her A.B. degree from Meredith. She is presently working on an M.A. at Ea'st Carolina College, but she finds time to advise the Calendar Com- mittee and the F.T.A. Advisor to the Senior Class, Mrs. Williamson is a graduate of East Carolina College. A business teacher, she holds a Masters Degree in Business Education. Mr. Williamson, a teacher of Business English, Shorthand, and Typing, graduated from East Carolina College where he recently obtained a Master's Degree in Business Education.
