Mr. George Trautwein Mr. Trautwein, we know you and love you for the inspiration that you are at GHS. Your presence is manifest even before we reach the Senior High, we are indeed privileged to reap the benefits of your leadership while students hereg and we are ever mindful of your con- tinued glow even after we pursue the richness of life. We know that the worth of your presence at our school is of such magnitude that we can not attempt to measure its merit. We do, however, extend to you the appreciation, es- teem, and affection of all of us who are better young men and women because of you. We have all sensed your loyal devotion to the Music Department and to the entire school, and we have witnessed and richly reaped the results of your many contributions of time and energy. Your earnestness of mind and willingness of heart are so evident in your active support of any school-sponsored endeavor that words do not properly convey our love and apprecia- tion. To you, Mr. George Trautwein, we offer our most precious gift-the dedication of a year of work, a year of memories. 42 To give of one's self, clay after day, surely merits reward A rare moment, indeed, is to catch Mr. 1 Trautwein as he relaxes.

The ultimate in imagination would be to imagine our bandroom without its beloved Mr. Thompson. continuous striving for perfection. Mr. ohn Thompson For the many years that you, Mr. Thompson, have been a member of our faculty, you have worked faithfully to make the Band and Music Department worthy of the traditions of the school. Your place is high in the hearts of both students and teachers who have worked with you in this endeavor. As a director, a faculty member, and a friend, you have merited the respect, the admiration, and the sincere grati- tude of your students and school associates. We certainly are cognizant of the extra miles that continually keep you beyond the call of duty, and it is these extra miles that privilege the community to share in the enjoy- ment of music. It is pertinent that we voice the certainty that beautiful music is not born overnight. It is an art that developes, grows, and springs forth in full splendor because of the excellent direction that is afforded by men like you. Mr. John Thompson, our school is proud of you, we are proud that you are a part of us, and the exemplification- of one such as you makes it fitting and proper that we dedi- cate to you the nineteen hundred and sixty-one GOHISCA. Typical of Mr. Thompson's day is this
