Mr. Britton has a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He attend- ed East Carolina College and the University of North Carolina. Mr. Britton teaches radio and drama, and is Director of the Goldmasquers. Mrs. Buckner attended Woman's College and receiv- t. ed a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She teaches English for three periods a day. She ioined the faculty of Golds- boro in September. Miss Grant obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree after attending Woman's College and the University of North Carolina. She teaches Senior English and U. S. History. Miss Grant is advisor to the Student Associa- tion. Mr. Roberts has obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts Degree. He attended Wake Forest and has done graduate work at a number of colleges. Mr. Roberts teaches printing and iournalism and is advisor to the Hi News. Mrs. Scroggs attended Wake Forest where she re- ceived her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She teaches Sen- ior and Junior English and is co-advisor to the Senior Class. Miss Simpson teaches Junior English and Latin. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Duke Uni- versity. Miss Simpson is advisor to the Junior Class and the Latin Club. rmzFmza,40m England Mrs. Ward obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Meredith. JOHN THOMPSON Mr. Thompson attended Ap- palachian State iTeacher's College and has a Bachelor of Science Degree. He di- rects the band. ' 4a .fave 74 Om 77 f The Music Department offers a varied program, which tries to meet the needs of the instrumentalist as well as the vocalist. Each student may experience the color and pomp of precision marching through the Goldsboro High School band or enioy per- forming a contemporary opera such as Amahl And The Night Visitors by being a member of the A Cappella Choir. Each area of the Department strives to help and encourage its members to seek a high standard of intrinsic values and to find aesthetic beauty through music. GEORGE TRAUTWEIN Mr. Trautwein attended Westminster Choir College and received a Bachelor and a Master of Music Degree. He teaches choral music. ?E:.1 1 4 J Mary Virginia Watts, Joyce Elmore, and Johnnie Hood assist Mr. Thompson in keeping E copies of their music filed in 'Que correct place. guvpsd' girls, under is leadership of Mr. Trautwein, practice their parts for ,an opera byi Girls' Chorus.
