BRITTON BUCKNER GRANT High school English courses are designed generally to make the student aware of the necessity of effective communication with the society in which he lives, and to develop his ability to use the lan- guage as a means of establishing for himself a better economic and social position. Specifically, the obiectives are to increase the vocabulary of all stu- dents, to cgyejxop skill in writing and speaking, to stress correctness always in granizdg and punctuation, to teach appreciation of our heritage thrfiwhffitefature. ln the English Department, there are seven certified English teach- ers and two Busin s English teachers, Mr. I.
