Warm-hearted men live in memories. That is the greatest reward they can receive here in time; and surely it must be one of the rewards in eternity. A man walks a nar- row trail in Africa; a woman visits a lonely home in Montana; a nurse bends over to whisper an encouraging word to a fainting heart - and all have a flash of memory of a man who taught them by his example to be kind, to be understanding, to be faithful to Him who taught us all the virtues of a kindly heart. We thank you for the lessons you have taught through the years. The living water of the Word refreshed us when you brought it up from the Spring. The unshake- able power of the RoCk became so firm in our hearts when you showed us the Church our God was building upon it. The crystal-clear meaning of His grace touched our lives so intimately when you gave it to us in under- standable words. We thank you, Dr. Cornitzka, for it all. Our wish to you is the wish of youth to age, may you have many glory-spangled years before God calls you to take the sunset trail into His presence. DR. 0. GORNITZKA

Total dependency upon God! We claim not one iota of merit for our salvation. We would be thrown into doubt and despair if we had to rely on our doing for salva- tion because we would never know if we had done enough. This we need not con- cern ourselves with. Christ has obtained salvation for us iHeb. 9:26l. Now as by God's grace you go out, always remember that it will be in proportion to the way that the Word of God is lived through your attitudes, words, and deeds that others will see and hear of this free sal- vation offered to all who will respond in repentance and faith. Godspeed! His promise is sure, iiAnd lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age? iMatt. 28:20l. Pastor Wilson Fagerberg, Deon Pastor Bernt C. Opsal, President I am sure that during the years you have spent in studying Godis Word, God has convinced you many times of the truth in the lines of your class theme, iiNot What my hands have done? As you now leave LBI all of us on the faculty and staff join you in singing from our hearts another line of the same hymn, No strength save that which is divine can bear me safely through? In the measure that you ex- perience the lack of strength and goodness of your own works and look to the divine strength in Christ which God offers you- in that measure will you experience for- giveness and peace. May His peace ac- company you in each task ahead.
