The way of victory for the believer is always in Christ . As soon as you slip away from that place of safety and power, there is nothing but spiritual defeat and frustration. To be in Christ is to live in the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he lavished upon us. As long as you live in these riches in Christ , all the resources of His resur- rection are at your disposal for triumph- ant living. Th-anks be to God! DR. 0. GORNITZKA ?caculhl Th-anks be to God, who gives us . . . our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks to the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Thanks for saying, He iHoly Spiritl will take what is mine and declare it to you. Thanks Holy Spirit for using humans to help ldeclarel. Thanks for directing students to study the Word. Thanks, class of '56, for continuing to the conclusion of the course. At the con- clusion may each of you say, I have kept the faith. PASTOR A. R. PETERSEN We trust that hours of intensve study of the Scriptures at lBl have been for each of you a wonderful adventure of spiritual enrichment and discoveries. Ours is the most prize-conscious of all generations. We are agreed that there is something fascinating about a treasure hunt. God has through His Spirit lifted your sights to the treasures that shall never fade. Grant that you may, press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God' in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:14 PASTOR A. S. BERG Doors may open and doors may close, Nations may rise and nations may fall, But the fields remain white unto harvest. PASTOR BERNHARD A. HELLAND To God who always leads you in triumph in His Son Give thanks and true devotion until your work is done; The harvest still is plenteous, the laborers are few, Into this field of service the Lord is calling you. In a world of uncertainty and constant shadow of war and trouble, young peo- ple need to live the life of positive faith and cheerful optimism. Your class theme of thanks for tri- umph in Christ gives us the key to vic- torious living. The triumph of Christ on His cross, through His resurrection, and by His second coming is our foundation. Thanksgiving for what He has done and will do is a channel and urge for our continuing life in Christ's service. God bless you in your victorious living! PASTOR A. W. DICKHART Your iourney is in a country of many hills and many valleys. Some of the way must be in the shadows, but it was the disciples walking in the shadows of whom it was said, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. May your iourney be always blest with His pres- ence. PASTOR K. C. GRUNDAHL It is good to render praises unto God even in the midst of privations, persecu- tions or adversity. May you be able to say with the Psalmist, O God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; my flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is. So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary, beholding thy power and glory. Because thy steadfast love is bet- ter than life, my lips wiII praise thee. So I will bless thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on thy name. --Psalm 63:1-4 PASTOR A. M. STONE Even youths shoII faint and be weary, and the young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. -Isoiah 40:30-31 PASTOR RUSSELL A. VIKSTROM 7aculhl My word . . . shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it. -Isaiah 55:11 Those who have given themselves to o consecrated study of God's Word here at LBI can be assured that the purposes of God are being accomplished in their lives.
