The unhappy defeats and stirring victories of years of struggle on the ploying fields will become nothing but dry statistics in some record book. A tradition of school activities ranging from Cross Country to Cabaret, from pep fests to PSAT’S will come to on abrupt close. The circle completed: the merger put off so long ago will now take place with Hopkins. Instead of having to deal with expected overcrowding (1980 attendance of GVHS was projected In the early 60 s to be 1981) the administration faced the problem of declining enrollment. Cuts In staff, courses, and the closing of the Middle School took place In the lost few years, but the measures were not sufficient. District 275 could not survive on it's own.
