l l cz rea' letter year . . . is called that because it is special or because something happened that made it stand out. Every year is alittle dif- ferent than those before or those that follow simply because nothing happens the same way twice and changes are always made. The year 1972 was one to be remembered--because of sports and the achievements the teams made in that area. It is to be remembered--because of drama and the accomplish- ments made by those students in league, district, and state competition. It is to be looked back on by makers of music-- because the year was the beginning of new sounds coming from that department. Scholars look back at 1972 and recall the new things they learned and the older things they review- ed. Every will-be or has-been Senior has a red-letter year because that particular year is both an end and a begin- ning to very important stages of his life. This yearbook is-intendedto point out the reasons 1972 was a red-letter year and to picture the people who made it so. It was our goal to make it a book for all ages--fromy1972 to 1984. My thanks,as editor, go to my staff of five. I can honestly say that they all deserve credit'for worldng on the yearbook- if not in actually laying out a page, then in throwing in their ideas and offering encouragement where needed. I would like to express a special thanks also to the advisor who worked long hours with a pencil and rulerin hand to help make this book what it is. My thanks, in addition, to my fellow Seniors and other special friends who helped make 1972 a red-letter year for me--may every day be the best day of your life!
