THE NUGGET l93O GOLD HILL HISCHOOL The Gold Hill grades had a basketball team for the first time in several years. The team was smaller than all of the other teams, but they made a very good showing in the six QIZIIIICS they played-. The sliuwing they made indicates they will he guucl material for future High School teams. Scorer PRACTICE GAMES Gold Hill-26 Eagle Point- 8 Gold Hill --19 Jacksonville-32 Gold Hill-19 Eagle Point 24 Gold Hill-Io Talent-24 Gold Hill-12 Grants PZISS-27 CONFERENCE GAMES Gold Hill-S Phoenix-34 The girl's lost their first conference game to the strong Phoenix team. During the Hrst half the Phoenix team out classed the Gold Hill squad. During the last half the local squad improved and the teams were more evenly matched. Gold Hill-19 Central Point-22 This game was the fastest game of the season. The game was undecided until the final whistle blew. The C. P. squad w,on by a few points. Gold Hill-16 Rogue River 29. The locals were ahead at the half, and it was a great disappointment to us to lose the game during the last quarter. Both teams played hard and fast. Gold Hill-1 I Phoenix-I9 After fighting and winning the First half the G. H. squad weakened and were defeated in the last half. The girls gave the strong Phoenix team a run fortheir money in the first half, and we were very disappointed to lose. Gold Hill--I6 Rogue River-32 This game was the last conference game of the season and the squad fought hard to win. During the first half the Gold Hill squad played fast and hardg the score at the end of the Hrst half stood 12-I2. During the last half the girls tired and were defeated. Gold Hill-Io Central Point-32 This was the worst game the G. H. squad played during the season. They were defeated much to the joy of Central Pointi who had almost been beaten by the G. H. squad the Hrst game.
