The float was a soft pillow of pink and white flowers with an open storybook en- closing thetQueen and her court in a won- derful dream of beauty. The Queen's court consisted of Ann Amold, Judy Crapo, Beverly McCauley, Helen DeRoos, Doris Esakson, and Grace Calkins. The King's consorts were Frank Southwell, Glen Haight, Roger Conklin, Stan Macomber, Herb Hodde, and Jerry Collins. We know that this was a very mem- orable night for everyone participating. Receiving class rigns, making a success of the Jr. play, and planning the prom were the main highlight of the year. Mrs. Rhoades, the junior class advisor, with the help of the class officers, helped to keep the class very active. Their efficiency was shown by the fine work they did on their homecoming float, and the wonderful prom that was held in the spring. Meetings are held every two weeks, and any in- terested parents or alumni are invited to attend. Their proceeds from the sales at the football games are used to promote banquets and trips for the teams. This past year a whirlpool bath was pur- chased by the Booster's and donated to the school. In this organization the students are given the opportunity to prove they can handle responsibilities and to prove their capability in carrying out their duties. The officers are elected from the ninth grade, and representatives are chosen from each grade section. One of the many purposes of the Student Council is to provide en- tertainment for the Junior High Students. In the past year several dances were held in the school cafeteria, and the money raised was used to contribute something useful to the school. These events and many others have played an important part in preparing these students for work in the Senior High School Council. Q 2' ' . I- . These pupils certainly will have an advantage when they graduate from college and actually begin their teaching careers. glance ' The National Honor Society, under the guidance of Mr. Gillender, has been one of the most industrious clubs in school this year. Most of their projects were designed to raise money for the scholarship which is awarded to some deserving senior at the honors assembly in the spring. The society also did many worthwhile service projects. Among them were the publishing of the Wolverine handbooks and the cleaning of the museum. Living up to the scholastic requirements of the society, the mem- bers experimented this year with a workshop designed to aid students having trouble in a particular area of study. Another highlight of their year was the sponsoring of the Keen-Teen-Kapers where the eight keenest teens in school, two from each class, were honored. The commtuiity benefits from the A-V instruction in caring for equipment and also by enlarging the scope of the leaming situation by the use of visual aids in the classroom. The student is benefited by a fresh approach to learning through many different A-V media. All in all, the audio-visual department does a most commendable job throughout the entire year. The annual staff wishes to thank Mr. Ward for the help he has given us in producing this annual. ,:, J Av .,. - ...,,... , -VP-:'f' E1 'Z' 2 Y, ix N may .5 -t - fs-xv' H' H r. . ga....r ,.,. 54,3 ,.,, ,.-, in , , -1 4.-- W, . 2 we' f 54 21 3 :M W , E .iffy by 1 Q X 5 K N QM Www N, sk f v2 ,: wig Q If X 4 fi 'K -- f'---- 1 ::..
