was A Many things helped to make the foot- ball season a great success. Probably the most helpful were the pep assemblies, the band, and the refreshment stand near the football field. The pep assemblies were held to urge the students to go to the games and cheer. The band furnished the school song and half-time entertainment for the spectators. The refreshment stand, operated by the Boosters Club and G Club, stood ready with refreshments to warm up the fans dur- ing the cold evenings of cheering.

Www! From December to February the scene changed at Godwin High. The campus had a white blanket covering the ground. The trees were bare and snow balls chased the girls to safety. With basketball season well on its way and school dances becoming more numerous, the students began to look for new ideas for entertainment, such as the Bunny Hop and whistle dances, each one of which 7 W was sponsored by different organizations. The students once more turned out to support the team. Pep assemblies, too, played an impor- tant part. As the 1954 Wolverine went to press, the basketball team was tied for second place and the future was bright for the tournaments.
