A mural was painted in the lower hall in ad- dition to many new interesting bulletin boards, paintings, and pictures which appeared in class- rooms and halls. Not at all fazed by the newness of school, the seventh graders completed their first project of the year with great enthusiasm. Just as these projects helped them to become more familiar with the outside world, they also served as a new medium for becoming better acquainted with each other. QW L2 L i E. l

all Fall meant the beginning of a new school year with all its problems of registering and settling to work and its brighter side-football season. The campus colors changing with the coming of autumn were high- lighted with the festive appearance of the students. As was wished, the football team came through with another win- ning season and a new addition to our trophy collection. The bookstore was packed and it seemed a useless attempt to try to get supplies. Through it all, new classes formed and each person began his new year with great ambition. One highlight of the successful foot- ball season was the Homecoming. King, Gordon Bennett, queen, Jane Stefaniak, and court, Lilarae Corkins, Mary Denton, Marlene Dickenson, Meri- lyn Johnson, Rose Rincione, and Sandra Willard, were chosen to reign over the occasion from the Class of 1954. During the half time, the queen was crowned, the band performed, and the Junior Class won first prize with their float. Following the game, the Homecom- ing Dance was held in the high school for iuniors and seniors with their guests.
