Class of 1 942 The T President .,.,. John Kommei' Secretary .,..,, . .. .. ...Barbara Oldfield Vice-Prez-:ident .... . Geraldine Ile Witt 408 Synopsis TIME -- 1936-1942. PLACE - Godwin School. PROLOGUE - Two years in Junior High. ACT I - Ninth Grade. Our ninth grade was probably much like all other classes except that we were lucky enough to have David Carpenter for our advisor. Our initiation by the Sophomores left our feelings hurt and we vowed we'd get even! ACT II - Tenth Grade. Woe to us! What a year! After our initiation of the Freshmen it was decided that all such initiations be permanently discontinued. Some initiation! Luck again smiled on us in our Sophomore year and gave us Mrs. Harbaugh for a class advisor. ACT III - Eleventh Grade. A never-to-be-forgotten year with the banquet as a crowning event. What we went through to earn our money shouldn't happen to anyone. Our junior Play, The Night of January l6, caught the fancy of our public! Again thanks to Mrs. I-larbaugh. ACT IV - Twelfth Grade. Our big year started rather well by electing our officers and the annual staff. Our faithful advisor, Mrs. I-Iarbaugh, was coaching from the sidelines as usual, although her smile was a little weak. QNO wonder after two years with us.j The Senior Play, New Fires, gave many people great enjoyment. Finally Spring came and with it began our first plans for the big moment - Gradua- tion. Skip Day was a question of much controversyg but when it finally did arrive we were off at the crack of dawn for a day we'll never forget. The Prom the juniors gave for us was indeed something to write down in our book of cherished memories. To the juniors we say-Thanks a million! On Class Day we appeared for the first time in cap and gown -s gradually acquiring a dignity hitherto unknown. Baccalaureate seemed even more solemn. Each time we hear the strains of Pomp and Circum- stance our final days at Godwin will be recalled as well as all the pleasant years gone before. EPILOGUE - Graduation Day.
