st Rim W. li.-.-rstna nitri- Stressing good sportsmanship and athletic skill as its goal. the Varsity Cluh is an outstanding Godwin organization. After foothall season the hoys held their annual pancake supper at which event new memhers are initiated. Twentyftwo Varsity memhers repref sented Godwin at the Grand Valley Varsity Ban' duet at Grandville. The cluh put itself on the map socially hy sponsoring several dances throughout the year. During haskethall season, Varsity mcmhers put on clever programs hetween halves of games. The Godwin HifY Club mel each Thursday in Mr. Boersma's room. All meetings were opened with the group standing and reading the club pur- pose f to create. maintain, and extend through' out the school and community high standards of Christian character. Following each husiness meeting of the second semester the memhers discussed numerous prohf lems pertaining to xhool and home life. At Christmas iifteen haskets of food and fruit were solicited and distrihuted hy the hoys. Other enterprises consisted of paddlefpop sales and a wienerfroast given for the Girls' League. Great progress was made this year by the Boys' League Court which was established a year ago to deal with the conduct of its members, the senior high boys. It is the hope of the League that, some time in the future, it may be able to render some such court Service to the entire school. A ac rw ,pf -M... This year was an active and interesting one for the League. A first semester highlight was the potf luck masquerade supper. Remember Mrs. Saur in her beautiful sunbonnetf' Selling hotfdogs at football games, filling Thanksgiving baskets, and gathering and repairing toys for distribution at Christmas kept the girls busy. The Sadie Hawkins Party honoring the Boys' League revealed many handsome Lil Abnersu and beautiful Daisy Ivlaesf' ln February the Leagues fourth birthday was celebrated.
