September :27 After repast Dear Di, Somewhat bored with conjugations of amo and square roots and other such nonsense, I let my mind drift while in session room third hour today, to pleas- anter matters. And to my surprise I found the impressive strains of Pomp and Circumstanee a fitting setting for my interlude. The notes poured forth from the cold air shaft - members of our young orchestra already practising to march the dignified seniors out of the institution. Looks as if Godwin halls might be ringing with something more than stu- dents' slang. Today marked the organization of the school orchestra under the direction of Miss Barr. The organization boasts twenty-seven instruments. Pat M olesta is the acting president, Doris Arrance, secretary, and Joe Bravata, treas- urer. I t meets three times a weelf, at noon. This year the club has been aiming to make the school more closely associated with the business world and the community. They have had many interesting speakers. Among them: Attorney H erscher, Paul Stryker, of Fisher Body Plant, Mme. J udiette, who ewplained to the girls how to keep that schoolgirl complexion which bosses admire f??j, and Philip Klenk, horticulturist.
