Gober boys took their game 63-50, while the Gober girls won 40-24. High in the boys game was Doug Morgan with 22 and Billy Hilliard 19 for Gober, and Tommy Odom had 22 for Windom. Linda Hilliard was high for GoBer in the girls game with 29 points, while Janice Barnett and Miss Carroll each had lo for Windom. Eric McMillen got 38 rebounds during the boys game to throw up a strong defense for Gober. Gober hit 48 per cent of its field goals and 60 per cent of free shots, while Windom hit from the floor for a 36 per centage and got 61 per cent of its free throws. Gober entertains Trenton teams Thursday night. The visitors also won both their games in the district opener Tuesday night over Sam Rayburn. Trenton Wins Two Games from Gober Gober Outscores Roxton 68-52 GOBER (Spl.) -- With three ' players scoring in double figures, the Gober plowboys defeated the Roxton Lions 68-52 here Friday night. The Piowboys, who trailed at the end of the first quarter on-j ly, were aided by t 27 - point j output by Doug Morgan, 13 I points by Eric McMillen and 12 j ' points by Billy Hillard to come out on top. Johnny Hill led the Roxton scorers with 20 points. In the first game a junior high encounter, the Roxton Cubs defeated the Gober quint 42-25. Lane led the Roxton attack with 12-points while James Compton had 12 for Gober to lead. James Barker added 10 points to the Gober total. The loss was only the third of the year ior the juniors. Both h.gh school teams will resume action Friday in the Savoy tournament. The plowgirls will play Windom at 12:30 p. m. and the Plowboys will meet Windom at 2 p. m. Gober, Windom Split Twin Bill WINDOM —Windom and Gober split a basketball twin bill Friday night. Ginger Sturdivant won the individual scoring battle with 35 points, but the Gober girls edged past Windom 44-43 to win the game. Linda Hilliard led the Gober scoring with 34 points. In the boys game, Windom romped to a 79-54 win as Bill Hewitt and David Oliver each dropped in 22 points. Doug Morgan of Gober took scoring hon-i ors with 24 points. Gober Romps to Pair of Wins GOBER — Gober won both ends of a basketball twin bill from Dodd City here Tuesday night. The Plowboys won 71-45 as Doug Morgan hit 24 points with Billy Hillard adding 21 and Eric McMillian 15 to the total. Perry and Marchbanks each had 11 for Dodd City. Gober’s girls won 32-23 as Linda Hilliard scored 19 points. Trenton Wins Two-”hl£hterM TRENTON — Trenton romped to wins in both ends of a basketball twin bill with Gober here Thursday night. Raymond Haley poured 25 points through the baskets to lead the Trenton team to a 67-44 win over the Plowboys. Doug Morgan was high for Gober with 23 points. The Trenton girls turned in a 40-32 win over Gober with Myrtle Haley leading the Trenton attack with 17 points.
