SEVENTEEN CLASS HISTORY In September, 1951, thirty-eight youngsters started down the road of education under the guidance of Miss Patterson, now Mrs. Katz. Leading us further down the road was Mrs. Montague who taught us in the second grade, Mrs. James, third, Mrs. Morrison, fourth, Mrs, Lyon, Iifth, and Mrs. Dayton, sixth. Mr. Linard and Mrs. Virtue had the task of leading us through our years of Junior High. Happily we started our high school years with Mr. Padgitt and Mr. Sakola as our Freshman and Sopho- more home room teachers, During our Junior year, we presented the play Ask Any Girl, coached by Mr. Larrick. Under the direction of Mrs. Virtue and with the help of Mr. Larrick and Mrs. Laing, we presented the Junior-Senior Prom with the theme Tropical Isle. Last but not least we reached the top goal in our high school years. Our Senior year was supervised by Mr. Padgitt. The most important happenings were the Senior Class play, The People Versus Maxine Lowe, coached again by Mr. Larrick, The Goal, the Junior-Senior Prom, Baccalaureate, Commencement, Alumni Banquet, and at last our Senior Trip to Washington D. C. and New York. CLASS PROPHECY One bright summer day in the year 1970, the eminent United States Ambassador to Russia, Leonard Lintner, was returning for a conference with the President. He was fiown here by Captain John Campbell, one of his former classmates. During the flight, John told him that Carolyn Crites was a receptionist at the air port, and after landing, Leonard went to talk to Carolyn. While talking, he asked her where there was a good barber shop so he could get a shave and a hair cut before meeting with the President. She told him that Eddie Allensworth and Jerry Edwards were barbers, and that Pam Klaserner and Susie Smith were beauticians in the same building in a near-by city. On the way, Leonard had a slight accident with another car, driven by Darlene Rentsch. While talking with her, he found out that she was happily married and had a family. Darlene insisted that he report to the nearest hospital for an emergency check-up. Here Dr. Paul Blind and his nurse Carole Huebner found that he had suffered no injuries, but Dr. Blind decided that he should be put on a special diet. When he reported to the dietetic ward, he found the head dietition to be Roberta Fouts. Upon leaving the room, he happened to walk by a nurse who looked familiar. It was Rita Lockett. He asked Rita if any other former classmates worked there. She told him that Sarah Mathias was one of the pediatricians. Leonard then went torthe insurance office where he saw Linda Bartholow, typist, Cheryl Hamilton, general secretary, George Harding, IBM operator, Rosemary Miller, clerk, Myrna Parrish, receptionist, and Judy Reeve, secretary. He asked Judy to call Schreiner's Garage where Dale was the mechanic. The insurance claim had to be taken to the lawyer, Lee Gardner, before any action could be taken. While waiting, Lee told Leonard that Barbara Heck, Virginia Frey, and Lloyd McMullen were teachers at the local high school. Barbara was teaching music, Virginia, history, and Lloyd, mathematics. After his meeting with the President, Leonard returned to the air base where he saw another class- mate, Harvey Morrison, who was the accountant there. He bought his ticket and boarded the plane. He sat beside a man who was wearing an army uniform. As they talked he recognized him as David Blickensderfer. Looking around, he saw Larry Parrish, now a member of the armed forces, and Ricky Crites, an Admiral in the Navy. As Leonard looked out across the beautiful United States, he said to himself, The Class of 1963 surely has been a successful one.
