For in that month of that year We began our school career. We did our best to put to the test By means of our antics and unmatched jest, Our patient and tolerant teachers, Who often uttered, Oh, What creatures! Some of the teachers in our early days Were Mrs. Katz, Mrs. Montague, Mrs. James and Mrs. Hayes Mrs. Lyon, and Mr. Gordon, too, Bravely led this devilish crew, 'Twas the fall of '54, When we first entered the high school door. Up to the 3rd floor we marched with pride, Each with his friends at his side. Never shall we forget our Junior high, And, when we left, there was a sorrowful sigh For the two who kept us firmly in hand, Mr. Barbour and Mrs. Begland. Into high school we marched with hopes high Full of the spirit of do or die! As Freshmen we were led by our coach, Mr. Scott, A man whom we all liked quite a lot. Then into the sophomore year we came Still full of hope yet-not quite the same Mr. Cramlet was our sponsor here As well as in our junior year. Ah! Our junior year! Can We ever forget Our comedy production The Perfect Idiot! If we were to make money, we had to hop Selling candy, popcorn, peanuts, and pop. Our junior-senior prom was held in the spring, That was the nite we all got into the swing. Rendezvous of the Stars was our theme, The evening for all was a heavenly dream. Then, too, as seniors we shall never forget The unfailing assistance from Mr. Padgitt. We worked quite hard, for we hoped that soon We all would be singing a traveling tune. Our play, We Shook the Family Tree was a hit, including John's faux-pas When he unexpectedly entered with a boisterous Ah haaaa! Mr. Larrick was nervous, as all directors areg But, when it was all over, he was riding a star. To all the village and to every farm We sound this history, sincere and warm: Not a voice in the darkness, not a knock at the door, But this poem that shall echo forevermore! For, borne in the annual of the Past, Through our school's history, to the last, The people will open this book to read About our class-its every action and deed. And so this history, I bring to an end With sincerest wishes to all my friends. May happiness, prosperity, and peace For each of you never cease. These wishes to you are borne on every wind With deep sincerity from your friend, Bevra Blind. 561167219671 Gilman will We, the Class of Nineteen Hundred and Sixty, of the Village of Gnadenhutten, State of Ohio, being of sound memory and considering the uncertainty of the frail and transitory life, do therefore, make, ordain, publish, and declare this to be our last Will and Testament, here by revoking all other and former wills made by us ,at any time. While flying to Columbus, Ohio on a Trans-Continental Airlines plane, I discovered that the stewardess was no one else but Janice Kochman. We visited until I arrived at Co- lumbus and she told me Norma Heck was doing civil service work in Columbus. I visited with Norma for a while after I got there and I learned from her that Vera Robinson was working as a typist for Ed Crites who is now a business executive in a nearby city. So before I left Columbus I went to see Ed and Vera and then was on my way to New York. In New York I went to see a Broadway show which was starring .Janice Emery, a famous actress, and after the show while visiting with Janice she told me Bevra Blind and Sharon Jester were working for a movie producer in New York. Following a short visit with Bevra and Sharon, I was off for Chicago to see Virginia Fouts and Karen Parrish, registered nurses and John Hall, a lab tech- nician, who are all working at City Hospital. Karen and Virginia informed me that Jack Pfeiffer and Frank Wfanosik were working as chemists in a chemical plant owned by Doyle Harding and I said that I would be passing by the plant to see them. Later in the day as I was relaxing for a minute or two, I read that Bob Hines, who is in the army, had been promoted to the rank of general. Bob is stationed in Texas so I decided I would have to go to see him. While touring the army base he told me he was writing to Jerry Herbert who was in the Navy and to Lynn Scoggin who was in the Marine Corps. Neither of the boys was station- ed in the United States, so I thought it best to write each one a letter. A few days later I was on my way to California to see Merritt Fahner, who owned one of the biggest Mdead businesses in the state. While talking to Mer- ritt I noticed that a couple of boys were working on hearses and discovered they vsflere Bill Boyer and Ronnie Davis. Merritt said they were two very good me- c anics. My last stop was at a high school in a nearby town where I had learned Gary Fivecoat was principal. He told me Judy Gooding was teaching home eco- nomics and Paul Hoffman, geometry. in his school. He also mentioned that the school was having a very successful year in basketball and that the coach was Bonnie Clark. After a short visit with each of these, I was on my way home. On my ar- rival I thought back over my trip and the reunions with my classmates and was happy at the successes of the members of the class of 760. 11177616671 lwerzly Classes JUNIORS Gelinda Bau, Pamela Biggs, Be- verly Blake, William Blick- ensderfer, Charlotte Brad- ley Roberta Brick, Marvin Brown, Gary Conaway, Martin Cra- han Carl Dichler.
