CLASS PROPHECY T'was the night before Christmas in the year 1960 and we were sitting before the fireplace. All of a sudden who should appear, why, gang Qld santa Claus, Hg asked us what we were dreaming about and we told him weihndormi what the rest of the Class of '45 were aging on this Christmas eve. 'Well,W he said, Nmy sleigh is on the housetop. Come, go with me and your dreams will come true.' We zoomed through the air and soon in landed safely. To our surprise whose home Who ever thought that such a small girl as Of such 8 fine fdmily. Alice told us that our sight a small cottage appeared. We should it be but the Wilson fam1ly's. our Alice would have grown to be a mother she had heard from Suzanne Ridgway who was in New York operating her own beauty saloon. We were glad to hear she had done so well with her l1fe's ambition Our Christmas gift to Alice was a card of safety pins to use should her family increase We left Alice She will surely be comb, and a bottle After leaving and soon came to New York City where we dropped Suzanne's gift surprised in the morning when she finds a card of bobby pins, of wave set in her stocking there we soon found ourselves in what used to be the slums of New York, but is now a beautiful part of the city built up by our own Yockey Guten sohn who had become a very famous contractor After presenting Yockey with an erect or set, we left his mansion on Park Avenue We asked Santa C , where our class the United States where we were Doing and he said our next stop was lashlngton D typist Marjorie Kinsey, was a ltenographar to the President of We cha ted with Marjorie for awhile and she said that Arty Gram was at the head of the Maintenance Department of the American Airways She also said that she had lunched with Buddy Goettge, who was campaigning for the next pres idental election Believe it or not, he is running on the Democrat leaving Marjorie a gift of a pencil and a shorthand pad, Arty a can monkey wrench, Buddy the key to the White House and cigars, we flew In Florida, we landed at a huge fruit farm Santa told us the ticket After of oil and a on to Florida owner of this farm was none other than our Class President, Ralph Couts, who had married our for mer classmate Betty Keith Since thev were raising so much fruit Santa left them a can of lnsecticlde Here, in sunny Florida, we also found another classmate, Gene Thomas, who is now drawing blueprlnts of airplanes for the Trans American Airways So, we dropped him a useful present of a drawing pencil We continued our trip to Atlantic Cltv, Georgia and who should we find but Ray mond Huebner, Harry James II, leading his own jazz band with his star singer, our little dark haired Maude Ellen Baumber er Raymond was presented with a baton while Maude Ellen had the great privilege o getting John Kinsey's latest song hit 'I' Got a Feelin l'm Fallin for You H John, who had changed his name to Alpine Sinatra, was also in Georgla and we gave h1m a metrone Soon we found ourselves deep in the heart of Texas Here we landed on a large ranch and the owne1 as most Enos We were astonished to see her wav down here and whlle talk1ng to her we asked if she had heard of any of our class that m1vn1 of n F8 1D Teyas She told us that Buke Tartin was now coach at the Texas A 5 N Col lege not many mlle from her ranch So, after leaving Rose a saddle, we flew over and dropped Buke a brand new pair of basketball shoes to replace the ones he has HK SITICG As Texas went out of sight, Santa guided us toward Salt Lake Citf, Utah Here we stopped at a large hotel xufre Plvllms Milligan was staying She is now head reporter of Salt Lake Citv's evening newspaper After giving her a toy typewriter on VhlCh to type her She said ves she had which made him heavv an 1 punollnv bag mates Bett Coen who articles, we asked her if she had heard about Ravmond Smith gust returned from the stxolum where he had won his main fight weight champ of the world We left him a pair of boxing gloves Then we went across the citw to see another one of our clas had married Don Myers and settled down o life in the west Her gift was a nice big rolling pin, which we Lnow she can use As our load rew l1vhter, Santa drove hrs elght relndeers toward San Diego Here we say a beautiful skyscraper which we later learned had been bullt b O C dearing P Sons Construction Company Bill Lawver had drawn the hluenrunts and is known for lis famous bulldin s al over the world So 79 left Junior some C1Q3TS 1D hopes that his sons would not smoke all of them To Bill Lawver we left a new drawing board 10 U e o l - e c 1. -4 xl L .
