CLASS PROPHECY One bright summer dav in the year 1945 a noted young scientist lack Miller was experimenting in his laboratory when suddenly there was a resounding bang followed by the clash and clatter of falling ob jects After some time Jack picked hlmself up from among the crumbled 1u1ns of a once well equipped modern laboiatory and made his way to the door Dashing out into the street he ran headlong into an innocent pass er by With a hurried pardon me he advanced two steps then whirled around Just recognizing the passer by to be none other than his old crony Joe Vansickle Joe recognized Jack at the same time and after many ex clamations of surprise at finding each other 1n such a queer manner they made their way back 1nto the crumbled ruins of Jack s laboratory for a nice long chat about old times Joe it seems had managed to keep in touch with several other membeis of the class of 41 He told Jack that Donna Angel was a foreign missionary who traveled by plane most of the time alwavs makmg sure that Eugene Huebner was the pilot As particular about mechanics as Donna about pilots Eugene always makes sure that Bob Ervin attends to his plane before taking off Donna enJoys chatting with the stewardess on Eugene s plane because it is another of her old classmates Vera Goodmg made quite a success as operators of the BuTee Beauty Salon Joe also said B111 Rldgway has followed in his father s footsteps now being a very successful coal operator with mines scattered over all parts of the country Roy Miller and Howard Clum spend many long winter evenings to gether at one or the other of their adjoining farms talking over crops and the good times they had back in G H S Elmer Kadrl who was so fond of teasing girls never married but leads a solitary life sometimes work ing as hired hand for Roy during harvest Lena Mapel and Martha Loper are now living in a furnished apartment in Wheeling West V1rg1n1a where they can be close to their work as sales ladies and to the Jamboree Suddenly realizing that he was hungry Jack suggested to Joe that they go get something to eat At this Joe remembered that he had been on his way to Tuscarawas to the home of the former Doris Cutes when Jack had stopped h1m YOUR A Sz P SUPER MARKET GNADENHUTTEN BANK HELPS YOU LIVE BETTER FOR YOUR ACCOUNT SOLICITLD LESS ALL DEPOSITS INSURED 211 Water St Uhrlchsvxlle Ohio Gnadenhutten Ohio s . n -In . n nv 1 , ' . , ' 9 - 9 ' u 99 I , - - ' . n -Q . , Q 4 1- v - .
