Seniors '85 Emily Curry was a cheerleader for three years in which she was co-captain of the Varsity squad. She was a member of the NIA club and was elect- ed Sweetheart Queen her Junior year and Home- coming Queen her Senior year. Emily plans to attend Georgetown University or Howard Univer- sity in Washington D C. She is a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. John M. Pruett was a member of the Debate team. NFL. Junior Classical League. Science Club. Medical Explorers Club and NHS. He was chosen to Who's Who. Society of Distinguished Ameri- can High School Students and received the UGA Certificate of Merit. John plans to attend college. Richard Watkins was a member of the Foreign Language Club. Science Club. Medical Explorers Club (post VP of Administration). Band. Orches- tra and the NIA Club. Among his honors are the Martin Luther King Jr. Award. NIA Achievement Award and A B honor roll. He plans to attend Oakwood College and major in laboratory tech- nology and theology and minor in music. UGA Certificate of Metit. GA Tech Math Scholar. Who’s Who and Society of Distinguished American High School Students. She plans to go to college and major in engineering. She is also a hospital volunteer. Michael Hummel was a member of NHS and the Drama Club in which he served as VP. He was a Governor’s Honors nominee and a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist. He received the UGA Certificate of Merit. Michael plans to attend the Savannah College of Art 8 Design and major in commercial art. He is currently a member of the Island Players. Karen Wright was a member of the NIA Club (VP). Latin Club. Band and Student Council (Sr. Class Secretary). She was elected Freshman Sweetheart Queen and was one of the top 10 Homecoming contestants. She has also made A-B honor roll and won I si place at the Social Science Fair. Karen plans to attend UGA and major in business administration. She is a member of the Zim Baptist Church. She also practices ballet and piano.

David Bluestein was an active member of IRC. Y- Club. Foreign Language Club. Math Club and the Science Club. He was also a member of Boy Scouts of America and the Society of Franklins. He participated in the Science Bowl and Math Bowl. His honors include the UGA Cert, of Merit. NHS. GA Tech Math Scholar. Who's Who. So- cieth of Distinquished High School Students and made A A-B honor roll all four years. David plans to attend college and obtain a masters or Ph.D in Physics. He is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Darien. Outstanding Lorraine Lane was a member of the NlA Club. NFL. Y-Club (publicity chairman) and FBLA (sec- retary). She has also participated in Model UN. Marching Band. Concert Band, drama and public speaking. She was a member of the Annual Staff and served as editor her Senior year. Lorraine placed 1st in an FBLA first district slate public speaking contest and in the 4th National Public Speaking contest with the Optimist Club. She also participated in another public speaking contest with FBLA — the 3rd Toastmaster. She plans to attend Hampton Institute and major in Pre-Med. She is a member of the Abysinia Baptist Church. Tommy Packard was a member of IRC. Y-Club. FCA and Student Council where he served as Executive Board Treasurer his senior year. He also made A-B honor roll. Tommy participated in Boy state and Youth In Government day as County Commissioner. He was also elected Friendliest” by the senior class. He plans to attend UGA and major in law and politics. She was elected 1st runner-up Home- coming Queen her senior year and Junior Class Sweetheart Queen her junior year. She was also elected Best Looking by the senior class. Peggy plans to attend UGA and major in business. She is an active member of a youth group. Jim Parker was a member of NHS. IRC and the NFL. Jim participated in the region 3-AAAA one- act play competitions, duet competitions. Model UN and was a member of the GA Golf team. He is a member of CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). Jim plans to attend UGA and major in account- ing. Selena Ruffner was highly active in many sports such as Softball. Basketball and Track. She also plays softball for a community team and is a member of a Brunswick Bowling team. She was also a member of FCA. Selena was elected Most Athletic by the senior class and was chosen Most Valuable Player of her softball team her sophomore year.
