This team put Glynn Academy on the map as far as sports go. Led by five all-state and nine all-region players, the Glynn Machine rolled over all of its opponents without much difficulty. The Coached Page Team again went to the finals of AA tournament only to be beaten by a powerful Brown Eleven from Atlanta. With such a good record behind them, the Glynn Team was chosen by the Peanut Bowl Committee to represent Georgia in the Annual Peanut Bowl game held in Columbus, Georgia. This game proved to be the best bowl game ever held there. Glynn lost a hard fought battle by a score of 20 to 26. Even after losing the last two games, many people still rated Glynn as the top High School Football Team in the State. This 1949 Glynn Academy Football Team will go down in the history of the school as the best ever to represent it in its history. . } | V .
