TIME CAPSULE CONTENTS Op e' olios Tim Fosrer, is nor going in rhe Time Copsule-bur rhe shirr is! 4 j Cheers! DO NOT OPEN BEFORE 2000 A Copsule For Our Time What orrifocrs of 1980, if stored owoy in o rime capsule and opened in twenty years, will move this June's gradu- ates to o nostalgia for their high school days? What items, uncovered in the year 2000, will remind us of the true texture and flavor of the fods and fashions of today? The students or Goversville High School hod o chance to rhink about these questions last foil. Because the Oro- de '80 staff wonted to link the new decode of the eighties with the coming of the next century, they ar- ranged for the doss of ’80 to bury a rime capsule which will be opened or their twentieth reunion by doss histori- an Chris Nicolella. All students could nominate five things they thought best represented the Class with Class . The results were very interesting. Our of 6,000 items, the only brand of beer mentioned was Miller’s. Mork, Steve Martin, and The Cars had to be induded. An '80 Class with Class T-shirt was a must, as was The Rock, which Louise Lomanro made a model of with our slogon on its front. Also, a sign with the price of gas today should be interesting to see in the year 2000. All of the items induded are pictured on the cover. The item most frequently mentioned was a copy of the Oracle '80 This in itself will bring back the most memories. Its pictures, captions, and copy are in them- selves a rime capsule. Many yearbooks are buried for years under a pile of old books on a dusty shelf, then finally uncovered when one wants to remember a name, a face, or a speaol moment. The Orade '80 intends to be a record for the future of our activities, our spirit, our lifestyle, and our friends. This is rhe essence of our rime copsule. Open it.............and remember. Archaeologists digging in rhe vicinity of what appears to be an ancient small dry on rhe former planer Earth” (now moon B ■ 2 60, orbiting Neprune) found an oblong meral canister yesterday. This canister, tentatively dared “late 1970's,” somehow survived rhe series of nuclear explosions which reduced Earrh to o lesser moon in rhe 1980's Articles found inside rhe canister are in rhe process of being identified, although many are still puzzling our scientists. A vessel containing a dark liquid having a strange odor was found to have a strong taste, and sdenrisrs who tasted rhe liquid became uncoordin- ated and incoherent A green disc - shaped object is believed to be an early model for a space ship. Pink, sticky squares which were found are believed to be a kind of facial mask, applied after being chewed Two representations of rhe human race were uncovered: one dressed in white may have been an ancient god, rhe other is dressed in clothing similar to that worn today - another finding puzzling to scientists. All articles found in rhe canister are undergoing further investiga- tion, bur will later be on display in rhe Ancient History section of rhe Neptunian Museum. Perhaps, eventually, this discovery will help us to better understand rhe lifestyle of rhe people who lived during rhe pre - nuclear age of Earth SENIOR INDEX BRENDA ACHZET Bren Oracle 3, I F C 2, Touch down Club 2, Girl's Field Hockey 2, 3, Girls Track 2, 3; Girls Inrromurals 2, 3, WILLIAM ALBANESE Willie Ski Team 2, 3, 4, J V Soccer 2 ■ Coproin; Varsiry Soccer 3, 4, Srudenr Aide 4 LUCINDA ALDOUS Lucy : I.
